Few quarterbacks, if any, have ever made the kind of impact on a franchise that the legendary John Elway had on the Denver Broncos. Elway was the No. 1 pick of the Baltimore Colts in 1983 and was acquired by the Broncos in a trade. After years of mediocrity, Elway transformed the Broncos from pretenders to contenders, starting a franchise record 22 playoff games during his tenure.
